Grotesque Dancers | Prints
Expressionism and dance. Berlin 1920s and ‘30s: courageous performers like Anita Berber, Valeska Gert and Claire Bauroff challenged all the norms of their times. They often referred to themselves as Grotesque Dancers. For these prints, extant photos were silkscreened onto paper prepared with various mediums. The images were sometimes overworked with gauche and/or fineliner. Each print is unique.
